Addiction was a term used to describe a devotion, attachment, dedication, inclination, etc. Nowadays, however, the term addiction is used to describe a recurring compulsion by an individual to engage in some specific activity, despite harmful consequences to the individual's health, mental state or social life. The term is often reserved for drug addiction but it is sometimes applied to other compulsions, such as problem gambling, and compulsive overeating. Factors that have been suggested as causes of addiction include genetic, biological/pharmacological and social factors.
The term addiction is such a state of in my opinion the mind and how it takes over the reasoning of the mental state in which healthier decisions are made. It has been my experience as a recovering drug addict that even though a person might be considered clean, the mind is still in such a state of denial or what I would refer it to being a lapse of sound reasoning that makes us react in ways which a "normal" persons mind would react quite different in most of the reasoning process. It is my own experience that once your mind has been effected by addiction that you will never be back to a "normal" state of sound mind in most areas of your life. Although you may be able to keep it at bay by not using drugs the damage that has been done takes from what I have learned, a life time of not using and retraining the mind to a healthier, habit form of controlling your thoughts which is in a way also described as "fake it till you make it." Other words continue to do as you say and someday you will react that way.
So with my experience in the field and you are getting what ya pay for LOL which is nothing take what you want and leave the rest. If you find something that might help you that is our only aim is to be helpful to those that still suffer from the term addiction. Call it what you want, disease, mental state, sound reasoning....the point is we don't need to name it we only need to find a solution to the problem that is causing us the harm that we are doing to ourselves if we truly want to be rid of the problem than and only than can we move on from here.
